Preconception Pelvic Floor Therapist at Wingwomen

Wingwomen is looking for a few passionate prenatal/postpartum pelvic floor physical therapists to add to our team on a contract basis!

Wingwomen is on a mission to educate women about reproductive health, and introduce them to different professionals to set them up for healthy conception and pregnancy outcomes.

Our sessions are 60-minute group virtual classes. They must be excellent at determining patients' needs, and possess extraordinary communication skills to motivate women in achieving their goals.

Our programs are targeted to women with PCOS, Sickle Cell Disease, Diabetes, Endometriosis, Hashimoto's and Advanced maternal age.

You will provide classes to some of our clients in our group reproductive health programs. You will co-manage our clients along with our health coaches over our 5,6 or 12-week programs. Our pelvic floor therapists leverage their professional experience, skill sets, or clinical background to educate our clients and help them prepare their body for pregnancy or rehabilitate it in the postnatal period. 

Our ideal candidate has already completed intermediate-level coursework in prenatal/postnatal and pelvic floor assessment and treatment and feels confident educating our clients about evidence-based ways to address diastasis recti abdominis, prolapse, incontinence, tailbone pain, dyspareunia, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle/low back pain, and guiding clients to return to higher level fitness activities like weightlifting and running.

From time to time, you may work with Wingwomen’s partners to refer clients to health professionals, to support optimal progress.

Job Description

Wingwomen is seeking Prenatal/Postpartum Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists to educate our clients on risks related to their condition. Our counselors will have 1:1 meetings with some program participants and provide feedback throughout the duration of the 5, 6, and 12-week sessions about potential risks associated with their pregnancy. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • *Educating our clients about evidence-based ways to address diastasis recti abdominis, prolapse, incontinence, tailbone pain, dyspareunia, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle/low back pain, and guiding clients to return to higher level fitness activities like weightlifting and running.

  • Available up to 8 days a month to teach classes/ provide feedback. 

  • Ensure the high efficacy of our coaching program amongst clients. 

  • Provide constructive yet compassionate feedback and support to our clients.

  • Support client satisfaction via surveys, emails, and calls as needed. 

The ideal candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience with women's health and 2+ years of experience with general outpatient orthopedics (time may overlap, 1 year minimum requirement)

  • Is available to teach/ coach in the PST timezone.

  • Previous experience working with, or volunteering with individuals who suffer from chronic pain, infertility, Endometriosis, Preeclampsia, PCOS, Sickle Cell Disease, Diabetes, Hashimoto's, and advanced maternal age fertility.

  • Levels 1&2 of Herman Wallace or APTA Pelvic Floor coursework, pre and postnatal coursework, pre/postnatal athleticism coursework, familiarity with Julie Wiebe's Piston Science approach.

  • Training in hypotensives or visceral mobilization would be favorable.

  • Excels at active listening, and providing compassionate support, while still keeping clients accountable for lifestyle changes, feedback, and program adherence. 

  • Is flexible, collaborative, has a beginner’s mindset, and is open to innovative approaches to care.
