Position Overview: Wingwomen is seeking a dedicated and experienced Ombudsman to join our team. The Ombudsman will serve as a liaison between our patients and their doulas with their healthcare providers, ensuring the resolution of medical-related concerns and promoting a culture of transparency, accountability, and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  1. Investigate and address patient complaints, concerns, and disputes regarding medical care, services, or communication.

  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate resolution and improvement in patient care quality.

  3. Serve as an impartial advocate for patients, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are respected.

  4. Conduct thorough reviews of medical cases, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.

  5. Provide guidance to patients on their rights and responsibilities within the healthcare system.

  6. Develop and implement strategies to prevent and resolve conflicts, promoting positive patient-provider relationships.

  7. Collaborate with various departments to improve processes and policies based on feedback from patients.

  8. Maintain accurate records of complaints, investigations, and resolutions for reporting and analysis purposes.

  9. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to patient advocacy.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  2. Proven experience in a similar role within the healthcare sector.

  3. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient rights, and ethical standards.

  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  6. Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

  7. Problem-solving skills and the ability to mediate conflicts effectively.
